Exhibition -Saleof Rare Ukrainian Gemstones and Jewelry ” Stone Universe”

From October 15 to November 15, 2025, an exhibition-sale of rare Ukrainian gemstones and jewelry will take place in Kyiv, at 15A Solomianska Street.

The highlight of the event will be the presentation of quartz, officially recognized as the largest faceted quartz from the Volyn deposit, weighing 4564.10 carats. The crystal from which the stone was cut was mined at a depth of 90 meters in the well-known site No. 521 of the Volyn deposit. Thanks to the masterful cutting and play of colors, this stone is a true work of art

Volyn Quartz: Structure, Composition, Significance

Volyn quartz is a natural mineral extracted within the Volyn crystalline massif (Ukraine). This deposit is one of the largest in Europe in terms of high-quality quartz mining and has scientific, collectible, and industrial value.

Crystals of Volyn quartz are known for their high transparency, well-formed prismatic shapes, and wide variety of colors, including:

• rock crystal — colorless transparent quartz;

• smoky quartz — with a gray or brown hue;

• citrine — yellow-colored quartz;

• morion — dark brown or nearly black, opaque quartz.

A distinctive feature of Volyn quartz is the presence of mineral inclusions such as rutile, actinolite, hematite, as well as two-phase inclusions of gas and liquid. These inclusions create unique visual effects, giving such specimens both scientific and decorative value.

Within the deposit, both small crystals and giant specimens weighing up to 10 tons are found. This mineral is widely used in jewelry, decorative stone carving, and is highly valued by collectors worldwide.

Volyn quartz has become an object of numerous scientific studies in mineralogy, petrography, and geochemistry, while also gaining global recognition among gemstone enthusiasts.
